The curcuminoids are due to the properties: anti-inflammatory, antiviral and general detoxifying agent and in particular of the liver (it seems to be able to activate the main system of detoxification of the organism cytochrome P450), also showing protective activity of the liver acting on the serum g , gpt, alkaline phosphatase, and the level of peroxidation. They are able to block free circulating radicals both to inhibit the formation of new ones. They also inhibit lipid peroxidation with beneficial effects on the whole organism.
