What is the oat bran
In the stomach. Just ingested oat bran is mixed with the food bolus. If you drink during the meal, bran soluble fibers are saturated with water and automatically fill the stomach causing a feeling of satiety.
In the intestine. The intestinal bolus arrives immediately after the triple action of gastric juice, bile and pancreatic juice. The nutrients are now been divided in the elements of the base, or in proteins and in amino acids, while the lipids into fatty acids and carbohydrates into glucose. At this point, the basic elements are ready to be absorbed by the intestinal wall and then be transferred into the blood. It is in this key moment in the digestion of oat bran into action. The fibers, now mixed with decomposed food, attach themselves to those around them, preventing the transferring and transporting them into the blood in the colon and into the bowel along with their calorie content. In this way it generates a loss of calories, cholesterol and sugar.
