Glycyrrhiza glabra (root) 160 mg dry extract (19% glycyrrhizic acid)
Triterpene glycosides (saponins pentacyclic triterpenoids). Mainly glycyrrhizin (GL - synonyms: glycyrrhizic acid and glycyrrhizic acid), present as K and Ca salts [6-14%], hydrolyzed by the intestinal flora glucuronic acid and glycyrrhetinic acid (GA - synonym: acid glicirritico) .. The GL is responsible for the sweetness of licorice, it is 50 times sweeter than sucrose. There are 13 other minor saponins. Flavonoids and isoflavonoids (1%). Include: flavononi as liquiritigenina, its 4'-O-glucoside and liquiritina glabrolo, glucoliquiritin apioside, flavones and flavanones as prenyllicoflavone A and shinflavone; chalcones as isoliquiritigenina and various glycosides such as 4'-O-glucoside isoliquiritina; licocalconi A and B ; glabridine and glabrene; isoflavones such as formononetin and glabrone. Phytosterols. b-sitosterol and stigmasterol. Coumarin. Liqcumarina, umbelliferone, erniarin glicirina. Polysaccharides. Glucans. Among the most important two arabinogalattani in Glycyrrhiza glabra and Glycyrrhiza uralensis three polysaccharides characteristic: the glicirrizani A, B and C. Amines and amino acids. Other constituents include bitter substances (gliciramarina), starch (ca. 20%), asparagine (1-2%), sugar (15%), gum, lignin, triterpene and essential oils; licofuranone, stilbenes, tannins, wax.
