In tropical countries it is the drink par excellence: it allows perfect rehydration and gives energy as it is a natural isotonic drink. The Hawaiian people call coconut water "noleani", which means dew of paradise, and is particularly appreciated by many traditional tropical cultures compared to all other drinks for its rehydrating properties.
Currently, however, its diffusion is expanding to the "modern" world which has discovered its concrete properties that make it so "special". Contrary to popular belief, coconut water is not fat at all, having only 16 calories per 100 grams, with very low sugar content. Often, in fact, it becomes confusing associating it with coconut milk, obtained by squeezing the pulp of ripe coconut. Coconut water, on the other hand, is found inside the fruit of the still unripe and green coconut palm.
Coconut water is to be considered a food of great value. It is 100% natural, 99% fat-free, does not contain cholesterol, has few sugars and calories, but from an energy and nutritional point of view it is a drink rich in mineral salts, such as potassium, magnesium, calcium and sodium, of trace elements. It contains the five essential electrolytes that athletes, for example, must take before and in particular after each performance, namely sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium and phosphorus.
Potassium is contained 15 times higher than sports drinks, and its components are all highly assimilable as completely natural and balanced. But coconut water is still a pleasant drink for everyone, especially in the summer when sweating is greater, and being a real mine of natural electrolytes, it can also be of great help in preventing dehydration.
Coconut water supplements the five electrolytes in particular: Potassium Sodium Magnesium Phosphorus Calcium Coconut water in recent years has gained increasing popularity as a natural substitute for drinks formulated specifically for athletes, but can be commonly taken as a summer drink under the umbrella instead of other sugary or excessively sweetened drinks, but we can simply sip it during the day.
Coconut water is still a food of great value, being 100% natural, 99% fat-free, it does not contain cholesterol, it has very few sugars, but from an energy and nutritional point of view it is a drink rich in precious salts minerals.
